Season role with a leading UK poultry producer

This is a full time hourly paid role (£6.75 per hr), working from April until December as a husbandry assistant. Hours per week will be up to 60, with extended seasonal hours and weekend work especially in rearing and production seasons. 

Working near Maidenhead, Berkshire. 

The successful candidate will be strong, hard working, highly motivated and willing to work long hours and weekends. The candidate must have a high level of English and a valid UK or EU driving license and telehandler experience or license. 

Basic accommodation is available on site if required. 


Key Responsibilities:

1.Responsible for the outstanding husbandry standards of Copas Very Very Special turkeys. Responsible for assisting in all outdoor operations including animal husbandry, bio security, farm cleanliness.

2.Assisted responsibility of the maintenance and security of all machinery, tools and equipment including cleaning & maintenance schedule

3.Responsible Key holder (when issued)

4.Assist in keeping all farms well maintained and in good condition under guidance of the Farm Manager

5.Assist as part of the Operations team in the implementation of the year-round maintenance across farms and properties.

6.Represent the Businesses in a professional manner

7.Tractor work ( hay cart, rolling, chain harrowing)

8.Grounds maintenance ( planting, pruning, trimming and clearing)

9.Assisting in all operations team duties under the Farm Manager e.g. Harvest

10.Assisting in estate works/projects as required


Core role detail:

Husbandry

ØResponsible for husbandry of all poultry and livestock reared by Copas traditional turkeys and Copas Family

ØDaily monitoring of livestock health and reporting any issue to manager

ØMortality record keeping

ØEnsure feed is not wasted and spills are promptly cleaned up

ØWork independently

ØMaintain the daily upkeep of livestock housing and ranges.

ØAnimal husbandry including monitoring and tending to the health and welfare of the Flock which would include but is not limited to.

oHouse/shelter setup; preparation; daily maintenance & cleanout.
